Position Overview
As an Investigative Reporter at WINK News, you will play a crucial role in uncovering significant stories that matter to our viewers. The ideal candidate is passionate about investigative journalism, has a proven record of in-depth research, and is skilled in presenting stories that hold those in power accountable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and investigations to uncover original stories.- Evaluate and fact-check information meticulously.- Conduct interviews to gather detailed and reliable information.- Write and produce journalistically sound news reports.- Advance stories over minutes, hours, or days as new details emerge.- Collaborate closely with the Assistant News Director, Digital News Director, and Executive Producer of Special Projects.- Utilize digital tools, social media platforms, and content management systems to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field.- Proven experience as a television news reporter, with a strong understanding of journalistic principles and ethics.- Prior experience as an investigative reporter is a plus.- Outstanding live and on-set reporting skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Strong research and investigative skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.- Proficiency in digital tools and social media platforms.
