Breaking News Investigative Reporter
WINK News seeks two dynamic Breaking News Investigative Reporters who can "quick-turn" local news reports on the day's most important story. The WINK News Breaking News Investigative Reporter diagnoses the day's big story for news and information that will add context and perspective to the overall coverage.
The best candidates have a proven record of in-depth research, evaluating fact-checked information, conducting interviews, write and producing a journalistically sound news report. Many times, essential story details trickle out during and after initial reporting. The Breaking News Investigative Reporter must have the skills to advance a story over minutes, hours, or days. The goal is to provide newsworthy information the audience can consider and evaluate.
The two Breaking News Investigative Reporters will report directly to the Assistant News Director and work closely with the Digital News Director & Executive Producer of Special Projects. We value collaboration, innovation, and dedication to delivering accurate and thought-provoking content to our audience.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field.
•Proven experience as a television news reporter, demonstrating a strong understanding of journalistic principles and ethics. Prior experience as an investigative reporter is a plus.
•Outstanding live and on-set skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly digest and produce compelling content in a clear and engaging manner.
•Strong research and investigative skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
•Proficiency in utilizing digital tools, social media platforms, and content management systems to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
