Job SummaryPlays a critical role on the Office of Marketing Communications (MarCom) team. Provides support and expertise in writing marketing copy for print, web, and social platforms, as well as being a part of developing marketing strategies that support building the ACES brand and the college's reputation is key for this role. Work closely with the director of marketing and the project manager to maintain relationships for the success of department and college-level marketing initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities
Marketing CopywritingServe as the primary writer for college and department marketing efforts.Conceptualizes, writes, edits, and assists with production of multiple types of creative assets with varying scopes of work and competing timelines.Work with marketing director, project manager, marketing coordinators, and others to consistently produce ideas and creative content strategies that reflect the needs of each assignment.Proactively identifies creative opportunities and ensures accuracy and relevance of information. Presents work effectively and efficiently based on informed creative rationales. Seeks approvals and revises based on team input.Proactively monitor, prioritize, and manage projects in project management software. React quickly, efficiently, and enthusiastically to quick-turn assignments.Research topics to develop content for multiple marketing channels that support building the brand and reputation of ACES.Create, proofread, and edit copy for various marketing channels, ensuring consistent voice.Provide copywriting support to college and department units to maintain consistency with college brand.Assist in managing content for college newsletters including internal newsletter.Provide organic social media content for platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to help grow our brand's audience.Marketing
Provide consulting services to assist with the coordination of marketing strategies for academic departments and other college units.Assist in developing new marketing initiatives and activities to support brand.Work with project manager and/or department marketing liaison to obtain, deliver, edit, and optimize all recruitment projects, including collaboration on marketing strategy.Work collaboratively with other campus units to establish and maintain AI best practices.Digital Copywriting
Provide strategic content development, planning, and communications of digital assets for the College of ACES as it relates to communications and marketing.Assist in the content creation for multiple marketing channels for our online degree and certificate programs, including email drip messaging.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary range for the position is $50,000 to $60,000.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement dependentwith unit operational needs.
Sponsorship for workauthorization is not available for this position.
Out-of-state candidates must establish Illinoisresidency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver's License or stateof Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180calendar days will result in immediate termination of employment.
