Senior Communications Specialist

We value our employees’ ideas and welcome suggestions for change and development as a firm.ResponsibilitiesOversee feedback of team’s responsibilities, supervise day-to-day activities, and monitor productivity of team output.Research and draft communications and briefing materials across a wide range of priorities and portfolios and conduct various tasks in support of executive-level leadership, including serving as primary client liaison to effectively manage, delegate, and monitor team’s daily tasks, and ensuring proactivity and closure of action items.Communicate with the interagency, researchers, subject matter experts, National Labs, international partners, and contacts within the executive and legislative branches.Research, draft, and edit executive-level communications products.Provide executive-level strategic communications support to maintain current and develop new relationships with departmental elements, inter-agency partners, and private and public entities.Provide strategic support for internal and external events, both domestic and international.Produce annual report and other required publications.Communicate effectively with the client, team members, and organizational stakeholders to solve problems and proactively create sustainable solutions to issues.Support development and management of policy and guidance based upon executive orders, circulars and memoranda issued by the Office of Management and Budget, Federal legislation, binding operational directives, and DOE directives, orders, and notices.Support and facilitate Directives Review Board (DRB) activities and the DRB process by working with administrative and budget personnel to evaluate directives under development.Provide support to develop, maintain, and distribute IT policy; provide analysis, implementation, and prioritization for updates.Support internal review and external audit response, including inquiries from the Office of Inspector General (IG), Government Accountability Office (GAO), and Office of Management and Budget (OMB).Support response to Legislative Referral Memoranda (LRM) and coordination with OMB, related to the review of proposed legislation.Create and update policy prioritization reports and enterprise-level metrics.RequirementsRequires
a MINIMUM of ten (10) years’ strategic communications experience.Broad political, legislative, and public policy experience.Superb written and oral communication, proofreading, and editing skills.Demonstrated experience advising on key communications strategies and providing assessments with analytical rigor regarding internal and external audience perception.Ability to quickly shift priorities and execute tasks, with general/limited direction.Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to manage scope, responsibilities, and priority across multiple projects, delegating tasks where appropriate.Strong people management skills, with an understanding and appreciation of different working styles and focus on team collaboration; skilled at asking questions and understanding varying needs and perspectives of coworkers, clients, and stakeholders.Demonstrated experience and judgment in navigating complex, time-critical, and potentially sensitive situations within and across organizations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (incl. SharePoint).Required EducationBA/BS, in a related field of study,
and
a minimum of twelve (12) TOTAL years of professional experience.Security ClearanceU.S. Citizenship is
required .Must
