JOB PURPOSE:

Managing the appointments and customers through the process while providing excellent customer service, this position will work individually with customers as they select interior options and upgrades. This position will report to the Design Studio Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage the division design center appointments and customers assignedWork with new home customers to select all interior finishes such as cabinets, counters, flooring and lightingResponsible for meeting or exceeding revenue sold and margin goalsAdvise customers on interior design (with respect to color, functionality, budget)Assist in determining market driven standard features and optionsCreate spec home finish and feature schemesWork with Design Studio Manager to price optionsManage distribution of design center paperwork or change orders for the field to reflect the customer’s selectionsCommunicate with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Homeowners as required to successfully execute the homebuilding processResearch custom requests as directed by the Design Studio Manager with the assistance of the Purchasing TeamOther duties as assigned or expected
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and SkillsStrong creative ability (Background in Interior Design)Excellent presentation skills3-4 years of selling experience in builder design center or retail design centerStrong focus on revenue goals and customer serviceWell organized and self-directedStrong interpersonal skills with attention to detailStrong computer skillsAble to establish priorities and meeting deadlinesMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demandsMust be current with design trends in a variety of stylesMust have ability to read and understand architectural/structural plansEducation and Work ExperienceAA or Bachelors’ Degree or certification in interior design or equivalent of three years of experience interior home design; or combination of education and equivalent work experiencePrior experience in new home sales or design centers is preferred
