JOB PURPOSE:

Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Design Studio Consultant, may work with new home customers to select interior finishes such as cabinets, counters, flooring and lightingMay advise customers on interior design functions (with respect to color, functionality, budget)May research custom requests by obtaining information on materialsMay meet with vendors as neededResponsible for complete and accurate paperwork related to customer selectionsArrange appointment times/dates with new home customers; greet customers upon arrival to the design centerOther duties as assigned or expected
QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge and SkillsStrong creative ability (Background in Interior Design is preferred)Excellent presentation skillsWell organized and self-directedStrong interpersonal skills with attention to detailStrong computer skillsAble to establish priorities and meeting deadlinesMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demandsMust be current with design trends in a variety of stylesMust have ability to read and understand architectural and structural blueprintsMust be willing to work evenings and weekends in a part time capacityStrong computer skills with MS Office and / or Builder Sales SystemEducation and Work ExperienceAA or Bachelors’ Degree or certification in interior design or equivalent of three years of experience interior home design; or combination of education and equivalent work experiencePrior experience in new home sales or design centers is preferred
