Associate Director of Public Relations
partners with the Director of Public Relations to manage Salt Lake SHRM's public image, reputation, communications, and community engagement. This role involves enhancing the organization's visibility, networks, promoting its mission, and engaging with stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
Public Image:
Maintain a positive public image for Salt Lake SHRM by effectively communicating its values and mission
Media Relations:
Cultivate relationships with local media, draft and distribute news updates
Social Media:
Support Director of Social Media, helping create content, and engaging with the audience
Website:
Keep the website current and user-friendly, reflecting the organization's brand
Event Promotion:
Coordinate event promotions, create materials, and work with event committees
Member Engagement:
Communicate with members and keep them informed
Community Outreach:
Collaborate with local organizations and represent Salt Lake SHRM at community events
Crisis Communications:
Develop plans for addressing reputation-related issues
Marketing Collateral:
Create marketing materials to promote programs and services
Metrics:
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of PR efforts
Requirements:
Term : 2 years, 2025-2026
Must be a SHRM National and Chapter member in good standing. (SLSHRM membership will be paid by the chapter.)
Must be available to meet with subcommittees to align membership growth strategies regularly.
Serve as a voting board member, attend and participate in all Board meetings (3rd Tuesday of each month, 8:00am - 9:30am).
Must be able to attend monthly professional development meetings (2nd Tuesday of every month, 10:00am - 1:00pm) and other events as planned.
Time Commitment: Approximately 10-15 hours per month.
