As the Vice President of Global Marketing Enablement, you will play a critical role with our global network of marketers in continuing to scale Amex Marketing U – our unique Learning & Development program for marketers – and managing overall risk of the American Express brand globally through our Brand Management and influencer vetting functions.
This role requires effective collaboration with business partners, particularly among marketing organizations and leaders across the enterprise, as well as with CEG, CA&C, BU partners and markets globally. Additionally, the effective candidate will be able to lead through ambiguity, coach effectively, and inspire followership within a matrixed organization.
The VP will have three direct reports and will oversee a team of marketers globally responsible for delivering best-in-class tools, resources, and programs for our global marketing community across the Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Ongoing development and management of Amex Marketing U, a multi-modality Learning & Development platform consisting of live global events, smaller workshops, creation and socialization of asynchronous training, bi-monthly global eNewsletter, and tracking learner performance.
Continued evolution of global Brand Management function and associated governance processes, including brand management resources, ongoing process monitoring and tracking, digital capabilities and brand consultation.
Lead out Global Influencer and Speaker strategy, in collaboration with CA&C and CEG, to continue to evolve and grow the process and strategic opportunities. This includes close partnership with GCO and Privacy, main point of contact for agency management, weekly executive steer co meetings, and managing critical milestones for the ongoing launches of the team.
Facilitation and execution of the Enterprise Marketing Council in coordination with the CMO office – a bi-monthly forum with the key leaders across Marketing teams globally.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strategic, big-picture thinker with strong business acumen and high degree of creativity in identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiencies.
Ability to influence without authority at all levels and demonstrated track record for driving results and transformation.
Proven relationship-builder with strong consultative and collaborative skills to devise solutions to complex business challenges.
Passion for marketing discipline and eye for industry innovation and understanding and experience in marketing ecosystem.
Experience in broad-scale change management with an operational focus; deep knowledge of brand governance, brand expression, and tone of voice.
Strong internal partner management skills with proven ability to influence & negotiate across band levels.
A dynamic and committed people leader with proven track record of building impactful teams and cultures.
Positive “roll-up your sleeves” attitude, a proactive mentality, and a passion to win required.
Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits.
