Want to apply Read all the information about this position below, then hit the apply button.Christianity Today’s Leadership Resources exists to help pastors and church leaders to live more Christ-centered, effective lives as a result of the stories we tell and the ideas we share—and equip them to lead more meaningfully.The CT Pastors Editorial Director should be someone well acquainted with the resource needs of pastors and church leaders and can lead the charge in what Christianity Today (CT) conveys to pastors and how we serve them, while being instrumental in shaping the voice of CT Pastors. This person will be in touch with the heartbeat of the conversations happening within the church and can equip pastors to be ready for those conversations before they even begin. With this profile in mind, this person will strengthen pastors in their calling by planning, assigning, editing and writing content that encompasses proven wisdom and practical tools—for CT Pastors and print mediums.Job Functions and Responsibilities
Plan future web and print content that meets the needs of working pastorsAssign pieces to freelance writersCollaborate with the project coordinator on successful execution of print resources and other editorial contentSupervise Managing Editor, Preaching TodayEdit and title content for websites, newsletters, and productsInterview subjects and write content as bandwidth and desire allowSelect and pin content on the home page, topic pages, subtopic pagesRepurpose existing content in new formatsRegularly review and update/improve each CT Pastors topic and subtopic pageSchedule and meet deadlines (with the support of the project coordinator)Network with pastors and pastor-serving organizationsContinually learn industry standards and best practices, suggesting and implementing new ideas whenever possibleWork within budgetsTravel occasionally for networking purposes, team building, and event coveragePerform additional job-related duties as assignedRequirementsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, English, or journalismMaster of Divinity or equivalent is preferredExperience:
7-10 years of editorial experience in church leadership resourcing spacesThe ideal candidate will have worked with both print and digital platformsChurch staff employment and/or active lay leadership experience are preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
Protestant evangelical local-church culture, well networked in the evangelical leadership spaceMicrosoft Office, WordPress, Adobe SuiteExcellent organizational and communication skillsPhotoshop, social media, and marketing skill set are preferredAdditional InformationBenefits
