We are seeking an experienced
Principal eCommerce Designer II
to lead design innovation, ensure consistency, and mentor junior designers in the digital shopping and e-commerce space. This role requires a strategic thinker who can elevate our e-commerce platforms by creating intuitive, engaging, and seamless user experiences. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in digital shopping, e-commerce, and user-centered design, coupled with a passion for driving product and design excellence across the organization.
WHAT OUR PRINCIPAL eCOMMERCE DESIGNER - UI/UX II ENJOY MOST
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Lead the creation of innovative, user-centric design solutions that enhance digital shopping experiences across web, mobile, and emerging platforms.
Continuously explore new trends, tools, and techniques to keep our e-commerce platform at the forefront of design.
Champion the development and maintenance of design systems and patterns to ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the design vision is executed cohesively across all platforms.
Act as a mentor and coach to junior and mid-level designers, helping them grow their skills in UI/UX, interaction design, and e-commerce best practices.
Provide regular feedback and promote a collaborative, learning-driven design culture.
Work closely with product managers, engineers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that design solutions meet business goals while enhancing the user experience.
Facilitate workshops, design sprints, and brainstorming sessions to foster creative solutions to complex design challenges.
Utilize data, research, and user feedback to inform and validate design decisions.
Analyze user behavior and design performance through A/B testing, user research, and analytics, using this data to drive continuous improvement in the design of digital shopping experiences.
Ensure that the voice of the user is represented throughout the product design process, pushing for solutions that are not only functional but also delightful and easy to use.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Digital design experience - 10+ yrs
Experience with basic prototyping and interface design tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, Axure, etc.) – 6+
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Design/Art/HCI/Media/related field or equivalent experience
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of user-centered design (UCD) process methods to digital applications from concept
Expert knowledge of new design techniques
Expert understanding of platform specific nomenclature
Expert ability to sketch and generate big-picture ideas for early-stage UX work
Expert understanding of UX best practices
Expert ability to deliver against several initiatives simultaneously
Extensive experience with planning and facilitating user research and usability tests needed
Extensive experience with creating highly-detailed annotated wireframes, user flows, and process flows within consumer applications
Skills:
Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
Demonstrates excellent client (presentation) communication skills and the ability to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to demonstrate UI and UX design skills via portfolio
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to be fully engaged and a positive member of a collaborative team
Schedule:
Full time
This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.
