The Director, Brand Marketing will shape the brand strategy for Nuun. This is a transformative role for the company that will define Nuun’s future, propelling it to connect with new audiences and occasions as the brand grows. This role will push the organization further, leveraging PR, influencer outreach, creative, branding and partnerships to drive awareness and affection for the brand as well as develop innovation. Strategically, it will have the responsibility for the brand P&L (Topline & Bottom line). He/she will be responsible for developing and leading the strategic marketing plans to accelerate growth, gain market share and enhance profitability for the Nuun business, and will have responsibility for driving in-year business performance as well as developing the commercial strategy for the brand for near & mid-term.
Additionally, the role will also oversee the Experiential marketing team for the NHS portfolio, with a focus on community marketing for our Nuun & Specialty businesses.
Ideal candidates will be passionate, creative and strategic brand leaders with a proven track-record of building and scaling brands and communities. This role is for a visionary leader who can build and develop teams that are known for having passion for the Nuun brand and movement. The ideal candidate will have a track record of driving results, while developing a strong collaborative team.
The preferred candidate will be within commutable distance to a Nestle Health Science headquarter location (Chicago, NY/NJ, Palm Beach).
Strategy & Execution
Lead the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for the Nuun business across channels
Devise the segmented marketing plans, including product mix, pricing, and channels of distribution.
Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of marketing strategies to achieve objectives for revenues, share, and margins.
Identify and collaborate on new product and business development opportunities to help fill strategic gaps in the portfolio and growth plans
Direct the collection of market and competitive data and consumer/category insights. Work closely with consumer insights and analytics teams to assess trends & category performance to arrive at implications for the brand. Develop communication, portfolio, and innovation implications as an outcome of the same.
Drive the in-person activation strategy across target communities for the Nuun & Specialty businesses
Reimage and scale the experiential marketing approach across the broader organizational portfolio
Business Management
P&L Ownership for ICP and 3-Yr Multi-year annual plans
Driving Marketing team understanding of business consumption and shipment trends through the Monthly business planning process – assessing delivery against plan, identifying opportunities to drive growth, mitigating risks to drive gap closing mindset.
Collaborate with cross-functional team on monthly forecasts – partnership with Finance, Sales & Supply Planning to review monthly KPIs and drive agile plans to optimize for changing market landscape
Proactively utilize marketing mix/ROI assessment tools to continually improve marketing spend efficiencies
Drive partnership with Commercial excellence teams and agency partners to ensure delivery against strategy, objectives and identification of new, creative ways to elevate marketing plans
Provide proactive and consistent business tracking updates to internal senior leadership and global competitive intelligence teams
Responsible for on-time and on-budget development and execution of all innovation and renovation plans for the brand
People Management
Lead by example to motivate and inspire direct reports and cross-functional teams supporting the brand to exceed high performance targets
Serve as a thought leader and strategic driving force within the VMHS Leadership Team
Actively communicate expectations and provide regular feedback against those expectations through a robust performance management process, working with each team member to evaluate performance, provide feedback and training.
Work with direct reports to build appropriate development plans and coach team to ensure that the training activities achieve mutual, agreed upon objectives.
Participate in talent recruitment and selection to staff the organizations with the best people for current jobs, as well as future leadership, promoting workforce diversity
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline required.
MBA/Master’s degree preferred
10+ years leading Marketing /Brand Experience
Top line, Bottom line management
Extensive experience on Brand Vision, Brand Planning, Go-To-Market Plans, and Innovation Roadmap.
Robust senior leadership experience
Relevant brand experience in a fast-paced, consumer product company

Externally focused marketer who is consumer and category centric and is agile to synthesize information to translate to business implications

The approximate pay range for this position is $170,000 to $230,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
