Corporate & Investment Banking Marketing and Communications Manager

The Marketing & Communications manager will be responsible for leading the communication and marketing needs for the local market in the USA. This person will be based in Houston, reporting and collaborating with the Head Marketing & Communications in Madrid and with the Head of Talent and Culture CIB USA in NY.
You will be part of a global team and work closely with local stakeholders and other MAR&COMs teams based in Spain and in Mexico.
You will spent your time 75/25 between communication and marketing tasks following the next needs demanded:
- This person will be responsible for planning and developing the execution of the assigned Marketing and Communications deliverables in order to boost the BBVA CIB brand, leading to a stronger brand awareness, as well as driving business generation opportunities, aligned with the CIB business teams.
- Understanding and implementing marketing & communication opportunities with third parties with the aim to boost BBVA brand
- Understanding of how media outlets work and ability to interact with journalists on a one-to-one basis. Existing relations with relevant journalists will be specially appreciated.
- Experience in using owned and earned media strategies to develop brands and deliver business results
- Good communication skills are a must, written and spoken.
- Deliver KPI reports to help monitor performance, identify insights/trends/anomalies, ensure all deliverables are meeting defined goals, and track results
- Accustomed to managing budget and strong experience in the negotiation process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse departments across the organization, including product, sales and different backoffice stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Compliance, Procurement)
- Bring qualities of coordination with different teams, teamwork and task resolution.
- Used to work with high performance teams (attention to details in search of work perfection).
- Focused on problem solving and management of stressful situations
Main responsibilities:
- 7 + years experience:
- experience in a B2B or financial communications environment
- experience with cross functional communications with focus on external editorial content, understanding the financial industry
- Colead with local and global teams for the communications strategy in the USA market with the objective to increase the BBVA awareness.
- Reach communication strategic objectives
- Increase the local brand awareness visibility
- Coordinate the execution and measurement of the online and offline communication activity
- Writing press releases, news, publications and contents
- Accompanying and supporting spokespersons in their meetings or direct contact with the local media
- Participate in management and generating content of the company’s website and contribute to boost other communication channels and social networks in collaboration with the global team
- Knowledge of social media and influencers to more effectively connect with our potential stakeholders. Drive a 360º content and media approach including the implementation of SEO, Content, email and owned and paid media strategies (when required), and deliver its execution and measurement indicators
- In charge of managing the local budget assigned
- Collaborate with local and global teams to execute marketing needs aligned with the company’s goals and objectives
- Contribute with the execution of client events and participate in the coordination of third party business sponsorships in collaboration with external partners
- Strong experience in defining and coordinating corporate and business events with clients
- Experience on collaborating with external teams and agencies and different type of providers, ensuring that the defined goals are effectively executed
We are looking for a candidate with studies or experience in Marketing, Communications or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience is highly preferred
- Knowledge and experience of financial industry and preferably CIB market
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, mainly Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Fluent in English and Spanish proficiency is highly desired
- Accustomed to working in a Google environment highly recommended.

With respect to this position in our Huston Office, the expected base salary ranges from $110,000 to $130,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
