Marketing Manager

Role Summary

Starwest Botanicals is an industry leader within the organic herb, botanical, spice, and tea industry. With nearly 50 years of experience, Starwest has grown to become a global player in the wholesale ingredient space. The company is proudly based in Sacramento, California.

We are looking for an innovative and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to attract and retain customers, increase brand awareness, execute innovation initiatives, and drive growth. The Marketing Manager will oversee a team of marketing professionals, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and use data-driven insights to optimize marketing performance. This position is located in Sacramento, California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with company objectives and drive brand growth and market share.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and oversee marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, social media, email, and events.
  • Brand Management: Maintain and strengthen the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and visual representation across all marketing platforms.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of compelling content for various platforms, including blogs, social media, website, seller platforms, and promotional materials.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies and a high return on investment (ROI).
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts, using insights to inform future campaigns and optimize performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product development, and other departments to ensure marketing alignment with overall business goals.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a marketing leader required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marketing or business is required.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and marketing automation tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in marketing software (e.g., HubSpot, Google Analytics).
  • Experience with data-driven marketing and using metrics to inform strategies.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, database management, spreadsheet creation, email, internet.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides constructive and timely feedback to improve performance to various stakeholders.
  • Supervise a team of up to 3.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Travel Required

  • Travel between company facilities within the Sacramento, CA area is required.
  • May be required to attend training and industry events as directed by supervisor.

Work Location and Reporting Relationship

  • This position requires the candidate to be on site in Sacramento, CA daily.
  • Work from home or remote work is not available for this position.
  • This position reports to the Global Head of Sales and Marketing.
