Shipping & Receiving Coordinator - Anchorage - Materials Group

JOB SUMMARYThe Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is a lead-level position responsible for overseeing all aspects of material management for construction and maintenance projects. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Foreman or Supervisor, this role involves coordinating the day-to-day shipping and receiving functions, managing materials, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of tools and supplies. Key responsibilities include addressing material needs and constraints before project start-up, managing inventory, and resolving material availability issues.

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator will use computerized systems to track, report, and maintain material sourcing status, and serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and other stakeholders to resolve any logistical issues. Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required to supervise and direct the activities of materials personnel under minimal supervision.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in Anchorage, Alaska. Reliable transportation is a must to ensure timely attendance and execution of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES•Oversee the shipping and receiving of materials for construction and maintenance projects, ensuring all deliveries are accurate, complete, and on time.

•Manage inventory levels and track material sourcing to meet project deadlines and requirements.

•Resolve material availability issues by coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to address supply constraints.

•Loading and offloading materials with a sit-down Electric Forklift.

•Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, and internal departments regarding material status, sourcing, and delivery.

•Proactively identify potential material shortages or delivery issues and work to resolve them before they impact project timelines.

•Research and resolve discrepancies in material lists, availability, or quality to ensure compliance with project specifications.

•Collaborate with production, engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to determine material needs for active and upcoming projects.

•Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies as needed.

•Supervise and direct materials personnel to ensure efficient and accurate handling of materials within the warehouse.

•Utilize computerized systems and databases to track and report on material status, inventory levels, and sourcing updates.

•Maintain accurate records of material deliveries, usage, and project requirements.

•Provide regular status reports to the Warehouse Foreman or Supervisor on material availability and logistical challenges.

•Assist with general warehouse operations, including organizing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the proper storage of tools and equipment.

•Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Foreman or Supervisor to support the overall success of the project and the team.

•Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

•Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

•A High School Diploma or GED is required.

•A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.

•The ability to work 40 hours a week in Anchorage with reliable transportation is required.

•A minimum of five (5) years' experience working directly in warehouse inspection, stocking, staging, packaging, delivering, shipping, and receiving is required.

•Proficient experience in SAP, Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

•Familiarity with oil field production equipment, construction and maintenance material and tools, chemicals used, logistics, standard parts, electrical, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, tools, and insulation materials is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS•Three (3) or more years' experience working in a Construction/Industrial setting, the Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry, and/or the North Slope/Arctic environment is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPEWhile working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
