Sunrise Brands, LLC is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Junior Technical Designer for a
fast-paced environment working with their NYDJ Apparel brand. The ideal candidate is a
driven, team player!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior Technical Designer will work with the NYDJ Apparel production team and help our
technical team to review and comment on TOP samples. The position will work with a very
knowledgeable and experienced Director in which the candidate will have a lot of opportunity for
learning and growth. This team is very friendly and willing to help each other when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all TOP sample approvals - issue TOP comments
Fittings
Measure Garments
Fitting with Technical team and Fit Models for Missy and Women
Solely responsible with TOP approvals and some light fit comments for easy
capsule but not limited to other tasks assigned from management
Create Tech packs for prototypes
Understanding of fit, balance, and garment specifications, fabric types and
fabric performance in different categories
Help other team members as needed depending on the number of samples
received per week
* Attend cross functional hand off meetings across all production
categories with Design & PD teams
* Detail oriented, able to judge shifting priorities and meet deadlines while
maintaining a level of accuracy and quality
* Manage flow of information related to fit process, such as tracking
reports, communicating with vendor counterparts
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least 5 years fashion industry experience with denim and non-denim,
knits and woven (Missy and Women)
* Knowledge in fashion design, technical design, patternmaking,
understanding of grading, and sewing construction (this would be a plus to the team)
Friendly and able to work under pressure in a cohesive team environment
Must know how to use Excel, Word, PLM, Illustrator & Photoshop (outstanding
skills in drawing flat sketches)
Must know how to measure garments
* Must have strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to identify and recognize fit issues proactively and accurately
during fitting
* Ability to work with production development and production to ensure
calendar deliveries are met
* Able to communicate fluently with factories to resolve fit issues and fit
corrections
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (proficient in
Mandarin or Cantonese is a bonus)
* Creative problem solving and approach obstacles proactively and look for
ways to work efficiently and productively across functional teams
* Ability to prioritize, multi-task, complete projects in a timely manner to
coincide with company objectives and deadlines
Work Location and Schedule
This job will require that you work from our office in DTLA, on a hybrid schedule during normal business hours.
