Description:

At the Emory Centers for Public Health Training and Technical Assistance (Emory Centers), we help our clients and their partners develop the professional skills, evidence-based programs, and policy action needed to build healthier communities. Housed within the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory Centers provides innovative trainings, technical assistance, and materials to build the knowledge and skills to foster strong leadership, increase organizational capacity, and strengthen partnerships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as project manager and oversees the development of instructional materials.
  • May supervise project staff.
  • Serves as liaison with outside agencies in the development of instructional materials.
  • Works with faculty to develop instructional materials (both continuing education and for graduate credit) for delivery in traditional face-to-face, web-based, and CD-ROM/DVD environments.
  • Researches and develops case studies based on relevant subject matter or events for delivery using computer and distance learning technologies.
  • Works in collaboration with multimedia developers to develop instructional materials.
  • Assists faculty in integrating instructional technologies in their classrooms.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

This position will provide cross-center support for curriculum development,
instructional design, writing and editing of learning products. Works closely
with the health equity CORE team to ensure inclusion of culturally appropriate and language sensitive content.

  • Curriculum and instructional design and learning assessments for online learning using Articulate or related tools as appropriate to client
  • Provide curriculum and/or instructional design support for curriculum products and updates of learning tools
  • Provide SME quality control of webinar content and other training products through editing and standardized branded look and feel
  • Provide editing and script support for podcasts as needed
  • Management of the Learning Management System and co-creation of LMS structure as part of team; provide regular tracking reports to evaluation team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or related field and five years of adult education experience OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects; strong oral and written communication skills; and the ability to interact with both faculty and staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Current knowledge on pedagogical issues related to education and technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with curriculum development, and creating learning materials, trainings, and toolkits
    Experience adapting learning materials to diverse adult audiences and
  • learning styles
  • Experience adapting learning curriculum for delivery in various modalities, online and virtual.
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Experience with instructional design technologies for content creation such as Articulate and Captivate
  • Familiar with adapting learning materials for 508 compliance
  • Experience working with subject matter experts in the development of
    high-quality training and TA resources
  • Experience with developing health related training and TA programs a plus

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
