Posting Summary
Oversee the external relations program and communications for the College of Education and Social Services, while also working closely with the Division of Strategic Communications to ensure continuity and synergy with the overall UVM external relations strategy. Responsible for the crafting, coordination, implementation and evaluation of communications for the College of Education and Social Services ( CESS ) in consultation with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and field partners of the College; with various internal ( UVM ) and external partners; and with vendors supporting CESS communication strategies. Contribute to the diversity and excellence of the College and University. This position reports to Strategic Communications leadership. The CESS Associate Dean for Graduate, Non-Degree and Research Programming will provide functional supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and at least three years of managing communications. Adept at using software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint). Proficient in using Web content management systems. ex. Drupal 10. Excellent written and communication skills. Understanding of contemporary website best practices. Accessibility optimization practices.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience writing for publication and/or the media, understanding of social media best practices, and Search Engine Optimization (specifically relating to written content on web).
Anticipated Pay Range 68,000-73,000

Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Background Check required for this position
