Assistant Professor in Game Art & Design
The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking a non-tenure track full-time Assistant Professor for our emerging Game Art & Design Department. The ideal candidate will be an interactive media artist who demonstrates a diverse practice in the development of game media, theory, and research. This position will complement the skills of our game design and production-focused faculty. The candidate will leverage solid drawing and design skills in order to support students from a range of disciplines. Additionally, this role will support the development of our evolving tabletop curriculum. The faculty member will teach six courses an academic year (3 each semester), contribute to college service, and maintain an active game art and design practice. The position will begin January 2025 and is for work to be performed in-person in the state of Ohio.
The CCAD Game Art & Design Department is housed in the Cloyd Family Animation Center. Highlights include: a dedicated exhibiting space for interactive installations, a drawing classroom, three dedicated Cintiq teaching labs, a Cintiq docking lab, flex space for student projects, faculty offices, a gallery, and a 90 Seat Screening Room with a Christie 4220 DLP 4K Projector and Dolby Atmos 7.1 Surround Sound System. The Game Art & Design faculty are encouraged to collaborate on both departmental and cross-disciplinary projects. All CCAD faculty have access to a variety of internal funding sources in order to support professional practice (travel, research, projects), including the Griffith Big Project Fund that supports new making and research projects.

- A CV that includes names/contact details for three references and links to a demo reel and/or playable games, tabletop print and play samples, or alternative documentation of interactive works.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required, and candidates should have either a graduate degree in a relevant discipline and/or relevant professional experience in the game art and design field (5+ years); both are preferred.
- Experience teaching at the college-level is desired, but not required.
