Overall Responsibility:
Provide God-honoring, Christ-centered, and relevant worship through leadership that inspires and engages people seeking a deeper experience of God so that they may grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and coordinates and recruits people to implement an engaging communication strategy for the purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Essential Job Functions:
Works with staff, paid musicians and volunteers to plan, implement, and evaluate worship experiences.
Leads praise band and worship ministry by providing; 1) community building, 2) music selection, 3) recruitment and scheduling of musicians, 4) rehearsals, 5) and leadership of the various teams.
Coordinates the recruitment and development of musical talents among those participating in all worship experiences through personal conversations, jam sessions, and rehearsals.
Coordinates media presentations for worship including sound, light, graphic design, and videos.
Provides oversight for recruitment, scheduling, and training of Communion Team, Welcome Team, Sound Team, Live-Stream Team, Recording Team, Choirs, music ensembles, etc.
Coordinates preparation of the sanctuary and chapel for regular worship times, funerals, weddings, etc.
Coordinates personal contact with first time guests and implements an assimilation strategy.
Coordinates and oversees external and internal church communications including; social media, print, newspaper, outdoor sign, graphic design, video production, banners, etc.
Oversees the all content for ministries on websites, social media.
Maintains a consistent and recognizable branding in all internal and external communication.
Leverages all digital and print communication to align with the mission and ministry for First Church.
Leads a small group.
Preaches as requested by Senior Pastor.
Essential Knowledge, Experience, and Education:
Experience as a musician and/or training in the vocal or instrumental music field is required.
Prefer previous experience in music/worship ministry.
Prefer graduation from an accredited college or university.
Experience in a variety of worship styles/expressions is beneficial.
Training or experience with a variety of communications software is beneficial.
