AbelCine, a leading equipment and technology provider for the broadcast, production, and new media industries, is offering a temp-to-perm opportunity within our Production Services division for one of our key clients. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Junior Video Editor with a strong grasp of social media platforms and digital content trends.

In this role, you will edit original video content, optimize preexisting videos for social media, create captions, generate transcriptions, and manage assets within our Media Asset Management (MAM) system. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, is essential, along with an understanding of how to tailor content for maximum social media engagement.

This position is ideal for a junior-level editor eager to expand their skill set and contribute to enhancing our social media presence. It offers a great opportunity for an organized, technically proficient professional who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Editing for Social Media:Edit and produce short-form videos, ensuring they align with platform-specific formats and trends.Recut preexisting videos for optimization, adjusting aspect ratios, run times, and graphics.Add visual elements like text overlays, animations, and effects using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.Create captions and subtitles for all content to enhance accessibility and engagement.Generate and ensure the accuracy of video transcriptions.

MAM System & Asset Management:Organize and manage video assets in the Media Asset Management (MAM) system.Ensure consistent metadata tagging, proper naming conventions, and archiving for easy retrieval and long-term storage.

Optimization & Quality Control:Review and refine edits based on feedback to meet technical and aesthetic standards.Optimize videos for each platform, adjusting resolution and file sizes to meet specific requirements.Conduct quality checks on captions, transcriptions, and video formatting to ensure accuracy.

Collaboration & Team Support:Collaborate with senior editors and social media managers to meet project goals and deadlines.Provide editing and creative support for larger projects, contributing graphics and rough edits.Incorporate feedback to align with brand guidelines and collaborate on new content ideas.Stay updated on social media trends and platform updates to keep content fresh.

Requirements for a successful candidate:

Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Film, Communications, or related field.1-2 years of video editing experience, with a focus on social media content for corporate or commercial clients.Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.Familiarity with Media Asset Management (MAM) systems for organizing and retrieving assets.Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, aspect ratios, and social media optimization techniques.Excellent attention to detail and efficient time management skills.Clear and effective communicator with strong written and collaboration abilities.Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Experience in producing, shooting, and lighting is a plus.Flexibility to work late hours and occasional weekends as needed.Physical Effort:

This is a temp-to-perm position with an estimated temporary period of around 3 months.Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.

The role is onsite at our client's Midtown Manhattan location.

Compensation Range: $1,750 - $2,250 per week.
