Work for a global supplier of industrial gas plants, customer-industrial gas plants, gas-processing plants, and LNG plants based in Central New Jersey.

Structural Design Drafter:

Responsibilities:

- Design steel cold box (tower) structures, pipe racks, industrial buildings, and other structural elements
of process plants per local and international building codes
- Produce plan, section, and elevation drawings of structures with sufficient detail needed for vendor
bid packages and for vendors to produce fabrication drawings
- Perform lateral and gravity analysis on structures to validate designs
- Develop shipping and lifting requirements for equipment from 5 to 500 metric tons
- Make technical recommendations and review vendor drawings, specifications, and shop drawings
- Follow established AISC, ASCE, IBC, and ACI standards
- Participate in departmental training programs/seminars and on-line training
- Ensure projects comply to schedule and budgetary requirements
- Work efficiently as part of a team with leadership and excellent communication and interpersonal
skills.
- Resolve technical project issues, reviewing and making quality recommendations
- Responsible for developing the layouts, structural plans, elevation views, and detailed
drawings based on the 3D BIM model
- Using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and BricsCAD software, for creating the 2D structural drawings
for design approval and shop fabrication
- Will utilize various drafting and CAD techniques to produce 2D drawings while working in a
3D design model environment for project requirements. For example, this would include
drawings of industrial towers, pipe racks, skids, and platforms.
- Provide detailed structural concrete, steel structure, and installation drawings for varied
industrial construction projects
- Provide structural component drawings and their connections to the structural steel and
other structural materials
- Following the company nomenclature and standards
- Read and understand the structural drawings and the structural mark-ups from others
- Make thorough and accurate modifications to drawings and return drawings to Engineering
on a timely basis
- Follow company procedures to ensure that all drawings have the proper approvals before
releasing updated drawings
- The candidate should be a self-starter who is able to manage their time effectively and
meet deadlines

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

- Degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized technical institute required
- Proficient in using CADWorx or AutoCAD software for 3D modeling to create detailed structural
drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections.
- Experience with Autodesk Robot, Tekla, and other industry standard structural design software
- Experience with Hilti design software and RAM Connection software is a plus
- Experience with cryogenic piping, cold boxes, and the Industrial Gases Industry is a plus
- Understanding of pipe stress and pipe supports
- Understanding of foundations and foundation loading
- Basic computer literacy - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to function in a team environment with multiple disciplines participating
- PE license is a plus
- 2+ years of relevant experience in the industrial/chemical industry
- Experience reading and understanding structural steel and civil engineering drawings
- Familiar with the structural concrete and steel design detailing standards
- Working knowledge of the civil/structural industrial projects
- General experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experienced in managing the revision process for structural/civil drawings
