Marketo Email Designer
for a med-tech client located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate will come with 2-3+ years of relevant experience. This is a
full-time ,
fully remote ,
12-month contract
opportunity
with the possibility of an extension . Compensation for this position is expected to be
$26-$34/hour
depending on experience level and fit.
Make sure to apply with all the requested information, as laid out in the job overview below.The Marketo Email Designer and HTML coder will spend much of their time handling e-mail requests, building them in Marketo and Litmus or other email building tools, testing in Litmus and Marketo, as well as partnering with the Marketo project manager and team to understand required changes, while ensuring edits and redlines are executed and that polished and professional e-mail communications are delivered on time. In some situations, or projects, you may need to use advanced e-mail troubleshooting and address other technical challenges. The person will report to the Lead on the Email Management team which reports under the Marketing Automation team. The Marketo Email Designer also works closely with the Marketing Automation team and tightly aligns with upstream/downstream business partners and agencies.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with marketing teams to deliver high quality email communications.
Understand and assist in driving email requirements and best practices; recognizes gaps and identifies development issues.
Strong understanding of user interface design/UI/UX.
Proficiency implementing email programs within ESP (E-mail Service Provider) tool.
Experience developing functional email templates designed around responsive, mobile-friendly, dark mode friendly email experiences (optimized for all devices).
Understand differences between coding for web and coding for email.
Develop/edit responsive email templates in HTML or through CMS systems.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code from scratch, or adapt existing code to meet business requirements.
Implement advanced coding practices including media queries and conditional formatting.
Build landing pages from layered PSD and Figma files.
QA process for emails: ensure proper rendering, consistency and spam scoring across various email clients and operating systems.
Update and maintain email templates whilst adhering to brand guidelines.
Implement A/B testing to optimize email performance and engagement.
Troubleshoot technical issues with ESP service representative and internal stakeholders related to tracking, implementation, and deployment of campaigns.
Conduct competitive research and identify best practices for coding architecture, user experiences for email programs and landing page designs.
What You’ll Need:
Minimum B.S. degree preferred.
2-3+ years of Marketo experience. Should have email platform experience with tools such as Litmus or Knak.
Advanced Frontend HTML and CSS experience coding emails.
Experience using Dreamweaver or similar code editing program.
Proficiency with Photoshop and Figma, to take designs from Photoshop and build into responsive email.
Basic image editing skills to crop, optimize and modify assets for email and web.
Experience building emails and landing pages.
Can organize, summarize, clarify, and communicate ideas simply, succinctly, and accurately to technical and non-technical audiences and leadership levels.
Capable of maintaining a rapid pace, moves at a nice clip and enjoys having multiple projects going at once. Can change course, be scrappy and get things done on short timeframes.
This position calls for regular Zoom calls to sync and coordinate workloads.
This position is designated as purposefully on site and requires periodically working in the office.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience working in a regulated environment; familiar with Medical Device Regulations – CFR & ISO requirements.
Knowledge of Marketing Automation Systems Veeva Content Approval processes.
