Responsible for directing the Navy Exchange Visual Merchandising Program which includes space development and utilization of retail services areas relating to store layout and merchandise arrangement planogramming display and signing.Duties and Responsibilities:Implements and maintains an effective Visual Merchandising Program which includes merchandise presentation, planogramming, display and signing for all assigned retail and services facilities.Supervises, coordinates, directs and trains personnel in the Visual Merchandising Department; instructs and trains sales and stock personnel in visual merchandising procedures and techniques.Assures correctness of fixture layouts and installation, merchandise correlation, space allocation, planogram implementation and monitoring for optimum efficiency and sales volume.Provides adequate staffing for all areas of responsibility; performs duties related to hiring, counseling and terminations.Performs duties associated with the planning and development of budget requirements.Supervises and maintains a program for the proper care, preservation and storage of display material, fixtures and equipment for distribution, relocation and reuse.Coordinates fashion shows and other Exchange promotional events co-sponsored by various military groups, Navy wives clubs and others, including site selection, layout, design, construction and publicity.Carries out EEO policies, communicates support of these policies to subordinates.Performs other related duties as assigned.The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required.Total of five years of experience as follows:GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Three years of experience which was gained in administrative, technical, or other responsible work, which enabled the applicant to gain an understanding of visual merchandising techniques and methods and skills in the area of attractive display, merchandise presentation, and in-store signing.OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
1 year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Two years of progressively responsible experience which provided a knowledge of visual merchandising techniques and practices; display and presentation of merchandise and signing; maintaining equipment and materials; layout and installation of fixtures; and providing technical assistance; or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities of visual merchandising, display, and in-store signing.To qualify for this position, you need a total of five years of experience, which can include:General Experience (3 years):
At least three years in roles where you've developed skills in visual merchandising, such as creating attractive displays, presenting merchandise, and setting up in-store signs.
Specialized Experience (2 years):
Two years specifically focused on visual merchandising work, where you gained knowledge in techniques for merchandise display, setting up fixtures, maintaining materials, and providing technical support for displays and signage.
