About this role
The Vice President of Product Marketing will be responsible for leading a team of product marketers, developing and executing go-to-market strategies, and ensuring our products resonate with our target audience. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in product marketing, team leadership, and a deep understanding of value propositions, pricing, and packaging, as well as the ability to build and maintain strong cross-organizational partnerships, particularly with product and sales teams, to drive aligned and effective marketing efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: The ability to work seamlessly with product, sales, marketing, and customer success teams, helping align stakeholders, navigate different priorities, and ensure that everyone is working toward the same goals.
Sales Enablement: Working with sales enablement to develop resources, training, and content they need to sell effectively. This includes supporting the team in creating battlecards, sales playbooks, case studies, and product training sessions, as well as addressing feedback from the field.
Customer-Centric Mindset: A focus on understanding customer needs, pain points, and behaviors. This ensures that the messaging resonates and that the product is positioned as the ideal solution. It also means maintaining an open feedback loop with customers to keep the product offering relevant.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Using metrics and analytics to guide decisions, from optimizing go-to-market strategies to measuring campaign success. This involves understanding metrics like market share, customer acquisition costs, and product adoption rates to refine approaches.
Leadership and Team Building: The ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a high-performing team, encouraging different thinking and fostering an environment where collaboration thrives.
What you'll be doing
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing product marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Value Proposition Development: Create and explain strong value propositions that help differentiate our products in the market and help Udemy beseen as a thought leader.
Pricing and Packaging: Develop and implement pricing and packaging strategies that maximize revenue and market share for the Udemy Business Portfolio.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Work with sales to create and execute comprehensive go-to-market plans, including product launches, positioning, and messaging.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Work with product to guide market research to understand customer needs, competition, and market trends. Translate this information into competitive intelligence resources that can be used by the field in customer and prospect engagements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, enablement and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
Customer Advocacy and Feedback Loop: Build relationships with key customers to create advocates and leverage their feedback to influence messaging.
Metrics: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics across marketing and product to help make data-driven decisions to optimize marketing strategies.
What you’ll have
While this work is based more on the skills a person has than what they have done, we think a typical profile could include the following:
10+ years of experience in product marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successful product launches and go-to-market strategies.
Strong experience in storytelling and messaging Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably in the tech industry.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA are nice to have
