If this sounds like you, then please read on!The RoleAs an Account Director, Public Relations, you are running accounts autonomously, driving the overarching account strategy while ensuring the team is set up for success and understands their roles and responsibilities. You’re the main client contact for nuanced conversations related to the team and the work, driving strategy and deliverables to ensure results each quarter. You guide your team to achieve hits by helping to identify the right media for a story and offering feedback and coaching along the way.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccount + Client ManagementTravel for client needsLead hospitality campaigns, e.g., crisis, renovation, hotel openingsCreate, execute, delegate, & course correct overarching account strategiesImplement strategies and oversee performance of KPIsReview reports and course correct as neededAct as a trusted partner to clients, leading challenging conversationsOversee scopes of work and direct teams to conduct meaningful work based on clients’ goalsMonitor team activity to ensure budgets and client satisfactionProvide guidance and resources for day-to-day account successDesign impactful PR campaigns and partnershipsHelp with any task to showcase leadership skillsManage conversations with clients relating to contract renewalDemonstrate leadership by providing knowledge and adviceUnderstand client business goals and lead account strategy for measurable ROICraft goal-setting processes with clientsNurture client accounts with proven tacticsIdentify add-on projects for clients and seek opportunities to expand retainer feesMedia RelationsSuccess is measured by team members achieving campaign marksCreate pitches that land in larger features and meaningful sectionsGuide teams to proper media who will execute KPI story ideasNurture A-list media relationships for key placementsRemain relevant in the changing media landscapeNew BusinessProvide thought leadership for new business proposalsAttend new business meetings as the voice of account leadershipBuild a personal network of contacts leading to new business opportunitiesDevelop a specialty area at the agencyAttend conferences and events to build your networkMentor and guide team membersManage team retention by creating growth opportunitiesPlan and implement efficient processes and trainingChampion and promote the J/PR cultureStay informed on industry trendsUnderstand and discuss social media capabilitiesResponsible for developing educational workshops each yearOtherAnd other tasks, projects, or duties as requiredExperienceCollege Degree or comparable experience requiredAt least 10 years of public relations experience in hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, restaurant, and/or consumer lifestyle arenasAgency or in-house experience is a plusRequirementsAbility to travel for client needsStellar client and media referencesStrong relationships with media contactsEffective management skillsProficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office in a Mac OS environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely mannerHigh-energy, positive self-starterCreative problem solver with a track record of delivering resultsAbility to handle time-sensitive projects and prioritize objectivesSolid leadership and coaching skillsValid passport for international travelJ/PR offers a competitive benefits package, including:Competitive base salary: $98,000- $105,000, commensurate with experienceCommission opportunitiesYear-end discretionary bonusMonthly Cell Phone StipendCompany contributions to medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums401K with employer matchBirthday PTOFlexible Release FridaysHotel trade with our world-class clientsHybrid office schedule (2-3 days in office)Milestone giftsAnnual holiday and summer partiesOngoing training and development opportunitiesApplicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
