If this sounds like you, then please read on!The RoleAs an Account Director, Public Relations, you will run accounts autonomously, driving the overarching account strategy while ensuring the team is set up for success and understands their roles and responsibilities. You’re the main client contact for nuanced conversations related to the team and the work, driving the strategy and deliverables to ensure results each quarter. At this stage in your career, you guide your team to get hits by identifying the right media and outlets for a story and offering feedback and coaching along the way.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccount + Client ManagementTravel for client needsLead hospitality moments and campaigns, e.g., a crisis, renovation, and/or hotel openingCreate, execute, delegate, & course correct overarching account strategiesImplement strategies and oversee the performance of KPIsAct as a trusted partner to Clients, leading challenging conversations as neededOversee scopes of work and direct teams to conduct meaningful work based on clients’ revenue and business goalsMonitor team activity to ensure they stay within budgets and client satisfactionLead your team by providing clear guidance and resources for day-to-day account successDesign award-winning PR campaigns, activations, partnerships, and programmingHelp out with any task, big or small, to showcase your leadership skillsManage conversations with clients relating to contract renewal and scope changesDemonstrate leadership with clients and teams by providing knowledge and adviceUnderstand clients’ business goals and lead account strategy to produce measurable ROICraft a goal-setting process with clients and lead the team on account managementNurture client accounts with proven tactics that result in continued renewalIdentify add-on projects for clients and seek opportunities to expand retainer feesMedia RelationsSuccess is your team members getting hits and hitting campaign marksCreate pitches that land in bigger features and meaningful sectionsGuide teams to proper media who will execute KPI story ideasNurture A-list media relationships and network for key placementsRemain relevant in the changing media industryNew BusinessProvide thought leadership for new business proposalsAttend new business meetings as the voice of account leadershipBuild and foster a personal network of contacts in the industryDevelop a specialty area at the agencyAttend conferences and events on behalf of J/PRMentor and guide team members in their careersManage team retention by creating opportunities for them to growPlan and implement efficient processes, training, and systems within teamsChampion and promote the J/PR cultureExpand knowledge of hotels, the industry, and clients’ businessResponsible for developing two educational workshops each yearOtherAnd other tasks, projects, or duties as requiredExperienceCollege Degree or comparable experience requiredAt least 10 years of public relations experience in hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, restaurant, and/or consumer lifestyle arenasAgency or in-house experience is a plusRequirementsAbility to travel for client needsStrong client and media referencesProven relationships with local, regional, and national media contactsEffective management skillsAdvanced proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office in a Mac OS environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely mannerHigh-energy, positive self-starterCreative problem solver with a proven track recordProven ability to handle time-sensitive projects and prioritize multiple objectivesAbility to think strategically but act tacticallySolid leadership and coaching skillsMust have a valid passport for international travelJ/PR offers a competitive benefits package, including:Competitive base salary: $100,000- $110,000, commensurate with experienceCommission opportunitiesYear-end discretionary bonusMonthly Cell Phone StipendCompany contributions to medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums401K with employer matchBirthday PTOFlexible Release FridaysHotel trade with our world-class clientsHybrid office schedule (2-3 days in office)Milestone gifts at 1, 5, and 10 yearsAnnual holiday and summer parties, plus regular socialsOngoing training and development opportunitiesApplicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
