Purpose:

The VEOZAH Consumer Team Lead is responsible for leading the Consumer strategy for one of the most visible brands at Astellas. VEOZAH is a first in class NKR(A) that is FDA approved to treat moderate to severe VMS and launched in May 2023 with a potential to reach blockbuster status. This Consumer Team Lead is a Senior Marketing role that will have direct management responsibility for 4-5 direct reports and be responsible for leading, planning, and implementing the consumer marketing strategy and all patient-focused touch-points critical to realizing the commercial success of VEOZAH.

This Senior Leader reports directly to the VEOZAH Commercial Head and sits on the US VEOZAH Marketing Leadership Team and will play a critical role in driving the success of the business and long-term patient impact.

This colleague is responsible for ensuring and modelling strong cross-functional alignment in the Brands@Center Operating Model and ensuring execution of strategy with key partners, especially other members of the brand team, alliance partner, Market Access, Global Marketing, CI, Sales, Training, Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs, and agencies.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Strategic insight toward refinement of the VEOZAH overall marketing strategy.

Develops the Brand Plan and Tactical Plans to ensure that they will achieve strategic objectives, make product budget, and be within A&P guidelines for budget.

Develop breakthrough creative including video, digital, radio, social, website, email/CRM, and print.

Lead refinement and expansion of robust, data-driven digital, social and mobile plan to engage and activate consumers.

Systematically develop and track metrics for media mix, consumer engagement, and promotional effectiveness, while linking to the broader success metrics of the brand.

Building a seamless, lock-step partnership with critical partners such as corporate affairs, advocacy, and health-care professional marketing.

Coordinating and driving focused market research plans to generate insights further driving plan and creative optimization and performance.

Lead consumer KOL/influencer identification and relationship development.

Lead patient/care partner ambassador strategy and execution.

Leadership of all consumer-related agencies to hold them accountable to the highest standards of performance.

Proactive management of marketing budget.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Fosters a positive and collaboration-oriented team culture. Ensures strong collaboration with cross-functional colleagues.

Attracts, develops and retains Marketing team members. Proactively manages the development of direct reports and broader team to ensure continuous improvement, and as well as providing coaching and feedback to support team performance.

As key member of VEOZAH Marketing Leadership Team, lead and implement other initiatives to support team and overall brand and/or enterprise as assigned.

Ensure all work is completed in an ethical and compliant manner.

Efficient use of resources including management of vendors, negotiation for services both internally and externally, and monitoring of budgets.

Organizational Context:

This position will need to fully develop working relationships with external partners and internal colleagues from other departments (including global, medical affairs, PR, CI, Sales, market research, legal, and regulatory). Frequent contact and collaboration with Commercial Heads and/or associated senior level colleagues across functions is expected. This role requires high levels of collaboration for success and will need to be consistently demonstrated through the sharing of ideas that leads to creative solutions.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

15+ years of relevant pharmaceutical experience, including a breadth of U.S. brand marketing experience.

5+ years as Marketing Director or Senior Director.

Marketing team leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Breadth of US marketing experience, with range of consumer responsibilities across brands.

Experience managing large DTC budgets.

Master’s degree.

Working Environment:

This “hybrid” role can be based remotely or at any US Astellas site with the ability to travel periodically within the U.S.
