We are seeking an experienced and motivated Growth Director to spearhead our expansion efforts and secure new opportunities within the
federal government marketing and communication market . As a key leader within our agency, this role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in growth strategy. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and execution of our business development strategy, build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders, and drive the proposal development process to secure competitive contracts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Growth Leadership:
Develop and implement a targeted business development strategy focused on government contracting in marketing and communications.
Identify new markets, clients, and strategic partnerships to drive agency revenue growth.
Lead capture efforts for complex federal contracts, proactively identifying key opportunities early in the procurement cycle.
Proposal Management & Development:
Manage proposal teams, delegating tasks across technical, pricing, and administrative sections to ensure high-quality submissions.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical teams to craft compelling proposals that emphasize our agency’s capabilities and meet client needs.
Ensure proposal deadlines are met with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and alignment with client requirements.
Relationship Building & Networking:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders, industry partners, and contracting officers.
Represent the agency at industry events, trade shows, and relevant business forums.
Build and foster partnerships with subcontractors, vendors, and other teaming partners to strengthen proposal efforts.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
Conduct thorough market research to identify federal contracting opportunities and emerging trends.
Track competitor activities and adapt strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team to encourage continuous improvement and innovation in proposal development.
Work closely with the executive team to ensure business development initiatives align with broader agency goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
8+ years of experience in federal contracting, with a strong background in managing marketing and communications government programs.
Prior experience in government contracting with knowledge of industry standards and compliance.
In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition processes and regulations.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and mentoring staff.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with government clients, contractors, and partners.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives.
Proficiency with business development tools such as GovWin, SAM.gov, and other market research platforms.
