The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Position SummaryReporting to the Audiovisual Systems Manager, the incumbent will provide support for remote and on-site audiovisual services for the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs student labs, electronic classrooms, event space, and audiovisual operations.At SIPA—the world’s leading school of global policy—we are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Applicants are encouraged to include information in their cover letter about how they will further this goal.ResponsibilitiesSupporting and maintaining the 16+ SIPA electronic classrooms, including supporting AV services for events in the evening and on the weekends.Live-streaming and video recording for events.Working with the AV Systems Manager on installation and configuration of e-rooms; running wiring for audio, control cabling to projector, and connecting PC, laptop, and accessories to Extron switches. Crimp and solder XLR, RCA, BNC, and Serial type connectors for building new electronic classrooms.Assisting the Executive Director with special projects and events.Performing related duties as assigned or requested.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent.Knowledge of and experience with AV equipment support and maintenance.Basic audio/video signal flow troubleshooting experience.Background and hands-on experience supporting Windows 10, Mac OS, Microsoft office and Multimedia/AV software applications.Knowledge of current audio and video technologies, soldering and crimping XLR, RCA, BNC and Serial type connectors, and understanding of cable management.Experience with video and audio production, including recording and live-streaming of live events and post production, and knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop), Final Cut X.Must be able to work on weekends and evenings as needed; Must be able to handle heavy work flow, and lift and move equipment.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of AV control and switching hardware and software.Knowledge of Extron control programming.Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / VeteranColumbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.#J-18808-Ljbffr
