About the Role - VML, (a WPP Company) is seeking a Freelance Associate Creative Director Copy to help with all brand and related messaging across digital and social lines for new Pharma product launches and assist with leading the day-to-day creative management of a new Pharmaceutical/Healthcare client across North America. This engagement will be open to Experienced Copy Leaders (ACD Level) who can commit to W2 Freelance engagement (no 1099 I.C. or 3rd party candidates will be considered) and will be a unique opportunity to work with an established Pharmaceutical industry leader and help shape new product launches and their Brand. The ideal candidate must be able to work EST hours and if they are based in the NYC metro area that would be a plus. You will help build and assess all concepts and creative development as well as work with strategy and delivery leadership for major DTC and HCP Brand/Product launches and related creative assignments. You are responsible for creating brilliant creative work, as well as adherence to, and the evolution of, this client's Brand & Creative omni channel strategy.


Responsibilities -


  • Manage | Provide creative leadership as well as vision and inspiration to creative staff. Own assigned projects and manage all aspects of the assignment, team, creative work, budget, and presenting. Work with Creative Directors to manage Creative team in ensuring quality and accuracy on all creative products. Make recommendations to senior leadership and other team members on how to improve process and product. Supervise, mentor, and train more junior level teams, including: Senior Art Directors, Art Directors, Senior Copywriters, Copywriters, Designers and Interns.
  • Create | Demonstrate creativity through efficiently conceptualizing, planning, producing, refining, and leading a diverse range of creative ideas and concepts. Work in a Copywriter capacity and performs the duties of the position when in this role. Present creative rationale during internal and client presentations. Drive the creative solution for new business pitches. Offer proactive solutions and ensure successful progression.
  • Collaborate | Communicate with client service Account Director(s) regarding business scopes, financials, schedules, and planning. Collaborate with creative leaders with interviewing, hiring, training and the evaluation of junior Creative staff


Required Skills -


  • Bachelor's degree plus seven or more years of copy experience in an advertising, marketing or experiential, creative agency environment
  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical sphere is essential for this role
  • Experience with Brand and Conceptual Work is essential for this role
  • Knowledge across either HCP and/or DTC is essential for this role (experience with both is a huge plus)
  • Pharma Product launch experience is also strongly desired
  • Knowledge of CX based campaigns will be helpful
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience
  • Advanced competencies in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite as well as multi channel environments and Advertising industry-standard software programs
  • Understanding of both the art and copy side and the ability to evaluate both
  • Diverse account and industry experience (Pharma, Healthcare, Brand, OTC)
  • Experience in and ability to evaluate all mediums to develop fully integrated marketing campaigns
  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates strategic, conceptual and creative thinking
  • Excellent presentation skills


Pay range and compensation package - W2 Freelance on VML Payroll: 90-125$ per hour // 40 hours a week
