CAKES body, is a D2C brand disrupting the bra industry. Launched just 2.5 years ago with our iconic nipple covers, CAKES body is doing for boobs what Spanx did for butts.CAKES body has been featured on Shark Tank having secured Emma Grede as an investor, and we are excited to be building out our awesome team!CAKES body is looking for a Product Designer to oversee and manage product design and development for CAKES Body products. The candidate will help with concepting, design, protoyping, tech packs, T&As, samples, line sheets, fittings and communicating with suppliers.The role is part time. This role will involve some international communication and a flexible schedule is needed.The role is based in Los Angeles as some responsibilities may require candidates to travel to the office an unspecified number of times per month. All remaining responsibilities can be completed remotely.This position will report into the Director of Planning and sit between the Product and the Operations teams.Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of product design in relation to Cakes body products from concept to final protoLead communication with suppliers on any topics relating to product design and developmentResponsible for approving PP samples on every production run and maintaining record of approvalsFollow and update T&As as laid out by team and be responsible for communicating any delays or setbacks cross-functionallyResponsible for conducting product fittings and recapping for team and communicating development with suppliersSample management; organize, track, and store all samples. Assist in setting up and breaking down samples for meetings.Work cross-functionally to ensure protos and marketing samples are being cut and sewn correctly and on time.Create Adobe Illustrator sketches; prepare and update of design boards and linesheets.Attending a variety of internal and external meetings, the Product Designer is expected to be well prepared and to bring valuable insight to the meetings as an active participantMaintain brand consistency across all products and channelsCommunicate any potential setbacks for delays to the Director of Planning and to other impacted functionsAssist in sourcing new suppliersQualifications:3-5 years experience in a similar roleAdobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office & SharepointStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, related internal functions and external provider basePassion and eye for designAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyProactive and takes initiative in problem-solvingStrong organization skills and attention to detailAbility to clearly articulate a point of viewAbility to adapt in a fast paced environment
