The Director of Strategic Internal Communications leads the development and execution of comprehensive internal communications strategies that unite Mercy Medical Center's downtown campus with its network of satellite locations and Stella Maris long-term care services. This role drives engagement with physicians, providers, nurses, and staff while strengthening the Mercy mission and brand across all locations. By fostering a connected organizational culture and enhanced employee experience, this position directly supports Mercy's commitment to exceptional patient care. The role leverages both traditional and digital solutions to ensure seamless communication across all locations.

Responsibilities:
Design and execute multi-channel internal communications strategies that align with Mercy's mission and strategic objectives, fostering an engaged workforce that promotes culture and a consistent brand experience across all locations.
Create and manage a strategic content and communications calendar that drives engagement, promotes cross-location collaboration, and celebrates Mercy's culture, growth, and achievements throughout the entire network.
Develop and distribute compelling content across existing internal platforms (intranet, email, digital signage) while implementing innovative new communication tools (mobile apps, targeted campaigns) to connect main campus staff with satellite locations and enable scalable information sharing.
Partner with leadership to craft messages that reinforce organizational values and deepen employee understanding of strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency across all locations.
Build and maintain strong communication channels between the downtown campus and satellite locations while empowering employees as brand ambassadors across the entire system.
Oversee routine communications and recognition programs that inspire pride and brand and workforce loyalty, highlighting achievements across all locations.
Measure communication effectiveness through data analytics, surveys, and feedback across all locations; provide actionable insights to leadership.
Collaborate with Marketing, HR, IT, Operations and other related departments to maintain message alignment and optimize performance across the Mercy network.
Build key stakeholder relationships throughout all locations to gather insights and establish effective communication cadence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related field; Master's preferred
7-10 years' experience in communications and marketing, healthcare background preferred
Proven success developing corporate communications strategies and driving engagement across multiple locations
Experience launching new communication platforms and marketing initiatives
Excellence in stakeholder-tailored writing and verbal communication
Strong understanding of multi-channel marketing and communication strategies
Change management and employee engagement expertise
Healthcare industry knowledge and market research experience
Proficiency with digital platforms, AI applications, and emerging technologies
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership across multiple locations
Strong project management skills and experience with work management platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
Salary:
Min: USD $41.07/Hr. Max: USD $73.93/Hr.
