Considering making an application for this job Check all the details in this job description, and then click on Apply.Overview:The Senior Designer will work cross functionally with Graphic Design, Sales and Merchandising to oversee multiple design areas while facilitating the design and merchandising of apparel lines.Key Accountabilities:Seasonally research and identify marketplace trends on style, fit and color and present competitive data to help establish key objectives for the brandPartner with brand leadership, both at Jordan HQ and within Haddad NYO, in advance of seasonal design calendar to help identify opportunities for alignment to adult initiatives and conceptsManage the overall design process to ensure that the product designed in concept is successfully meeting business needs according to leadership feedback and retail expectationsPresent concept and vision in licensor and sales meetingsOversee the creation, development and execution of design process while implementing the overall brand strategy and merchandise objectives for the Kids businessCreate technically accurate CAD sketches of styles in developmentCommunicate regularly with Design and Merchandising teams to discuss line development progress and share feedbackExecute all relative tech packs to ensure accuracy of product developmentAttend all fitting meetings relative to designed styles from concept through production and lend feedback to ensure design intention is capturedReview and approve styles, materials, trims and colors according to need and effectively communicate approvals to appropriate cross functional teamsParticipate in sampling communication between sample room, Design, and cross-functional teams as neededAttend and recap both corporate milestone and cross-functional meetings for key feedback, identifying actionable requests and subsequent timelinesWork closely with Design, Graphic Designers, Merch, Operations and Sales to prepare line reviews and presentation materials for market and corporate brand meetingsWork closely with Design leadership, Sales and Merchandising teams to ideate and launch concepts across several levels of distributionSpecial projects as assignedRequirements
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design8+ years of experience in the fashion industry (children’s wear knowledge a plus)Ability to travel as neededProficient in Adobe Creative SuiteExcellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detailAbility to lead and develop a team of designers at all levels
