We are seeking a talented and creative
Social Media Editor (M-F, 12-8pm) to join the Page Six social team. The ideal candidate will be an avid scroller, have a strong background in social video editing, a passion for keeping up to date with social media trends, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to create engaging content that resonates with a pop culture-obsessed audience.
Responsibilities:Package social media content for Page Six accounts spanning Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Threads and more.Create short-form vertical videos, memes and engagement posts.Film, edit and post raw video footage from podcast episodes, live events and TV into polished, engaging content suitable for social media platforms. Ensure videos adhere to platform-specific requirements and best practices.Pitch trending and buzzy contentEngage with fans on Page Six social accounts by replying to comments across social platforms, sending Whatsapp channel messages and more.Requirements:
Experience in content creation, including the development of engaging multimedia content across digital platforms.Proficiency in video and photo editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and Canva, with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality editing and creative execution.Strong news judgment, with excellent writing and copy-editing skills, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all published content.Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms, with the ability to quickly adapt strategies to optimize audience engagement.Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts with large followings, emphasizing audience growth and engagement through thoughtful and timely content.Exceptional multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize effectively and perform well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.Passionate about pop culture, with a deep understanding of current trends and an ability to leverage popular culture insights to enhance content appeal.
