- Acts as Production Manager Audio for all touring shows and events, providing a professional audio product as front-of-house engineer and/or monitor engineer or system tech. Supervises and actively participates in the installation and operating of all audio and video systems. This includes setting up and "ringing out" a live and/or reinforcement audio system with a full complement of wired and wireless microphones, stage and in-ear monitors, direct inputs, outboard gear and striking of all equipment for each touring show or event.
- Responsible for all backline and audio/video equipment rentals, delivery, and execution.
- Oversees all touring show and event audio operations, in compliance with the Gogue Performing Arts Center's vision and mission for excellence including planning, development, set-up, testing, implementation, and maintenance of equipment used for Audio Production operations. Collaborates with visiting audio staff when required.
- Provides and manages audio production support for all building operations, events, and tours while demonstrating excellent customer service to all patrons, artists, and clients by advising during presenting and rental contract negotiations as to the capabilities of the spaces and available equipment. Reviews, interprets, and executes respective technical riders and audio/video requests of tours and user groups, presenting written estimates of cost of labor and materials to the Director of Production in a timely manner.
- Creates and updates audio production systems and specifications for the facility. Manages inventory, storage, repairs, and preventative maintenance of all related tools and equipment. Updates software and hardware needs in keeping with ongoing current standards for performances and events.
- Monitors and implements industry best practices in sound and projection rigging and installation, particularly in relation to health & safety, in all GPAC spaces. Provide regular updates to the Director of Production on all areas of responsibility..
- Trains and supervises students, TES, and contracted employees involved in audio and video production at the Gogue Center.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree
- Associate's degree or vocational certificate plus 2 years of experience with theater operations, including audio, video, or lighting systems, as well as stage operations, for live performances and/or touring productions.
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience with theater operations, including audio, video, or lighting systems, as well as stage operations, for live performances and/or touring productions
- Extensive knowledge of the methods, tools, and techniques used in the audio and video operation elements of live productions.
- Knowledge of basic rigging safety and technique.
- Knowledge of video streaming operations.
- Proficiency in Dante, Radio Frequency (RF) Management, Yamaha Audio Desks, and Line array
processing software. Certifications or training in these areas are also preferred. - Knowledge of Q-SYS audio/video (A/V) control platform.
- Knowledge of theater rigging.
- Knowledge of Theatrical Power Systems.
- Knowledge of proper operation and maintenance of chain motors and pit lifts.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and to establish and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Exceptional communication and collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Job occasionally requires sitting, and lifting more than 100 pounds.
- Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically, ability to distinguish colors.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications in Windows and Mac environments and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office 365 applications (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc)
- CPR certified or ability to acquire within 30 days of employment.
