SummarySeeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to create fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, structural steel, piping, and P&IDs using Inventor and AutoCAD. The role involves overseeing multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, and mentoring drafters. Reporting directly to the Design Manager, this position supports projects from order receipt through fabrication and shipment.
Key Responsibilities:Develop 3D models and extract fully dimensioned 2D drawings with weld symbols and fabrication details.Ensure compliance with ASME Y 14.7 standards.Manage projects from inception through shipment while meeting timelines.Participate in design reviews with internal teams and customers.Continuously improve design processes and communication.Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
Qualifications:High school diploma required; extended drafting design education is a plus.Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.Experience in designing ASME coded vessels, structural steel, piping, and mechanical systems.Knowledge of ASME Section VIII DIV.1, AISC, SID, and OSHA standards.Strong understanding of welding symbols and their application.Ability to interpret customer specifications and create detailed designs and BOMs.Experience with Compress software for ASME vessel design.Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
Must Have:ASME codes and StandardsAutodesk InventorPressure Vessel Design experience
Physical Requirements:Lift up to 50 pounds.Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with potential interruptions.Ability to multitask and manage shared workspace efficiently.
