DAVE (Digital Audio Visual Environments) is a fast-growing division of VP Supply that is currently celebrating serving the greater Rochester region for over 40 years. We provide custom Audio Visual and automation solutions for homes and businesses, which includes design, integration and installation of home theaters, home automation, security and surveillance, home networking and Wifi, and commercial audio, video, conferencing, and surveillance installations.
Position Overview:
Our DAVE division is seeking to hire an AV Installer to join our Rochester, NY branch. As an installer and service technician in our company, you will spend your time working in customers homes and businesses to install, integrate, and deploy the latest in A/V and automation technology. Whether you are a highly skilled seasoned veteran of the AV industry or someone just starting out, we want to hear from you. Entry level cable technicians looking to move into the more technical aspects of communication technologies are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Installation of audio/visual and automation system solutions per statement of work (Video/TV solutions, audio solutions, basic networking, and automation equipment in residential and commercial locations).
- Running of low voltage wiring both during construction (pre-wiring) and after construction (retrofit)
- Troubleshooting of audio, visual, and automation equipment and control systems
- Identify and escalate business and technical opportunities as appropriate.
- Networking on job-sites with other subcontractors to build solid relationships with other trades
- Provide customer-facing end-user training
- Participate in frequent internal meetings with colleagues, team members, and manager
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers, team members, other on-site trades, and staff. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Attend all appointments on-time with focus on providing quality client service.
o Submit detailed records in a timely manner (time sheets, tickets, reports, etc.).
o Perform all responsibilities in alignment with the core values of the Company.
So what does a typical work week look like? On Monday you might be installing TVs in a new sports bar. On Tuesday you might be pre-wiring a group of residential homes under construction. On Wednesday you might be installing a new video conference system in a large corporate office. Thursday you are installing a surveillance or alarm system. And Friday might be full of small service calls and troubleshooting. As you can see, every day is a new day with different and exciting challenges. We do our best to provide a well planned and structured day however, priorities can shift at a moments notice. Your ability to be flexible and adjust on the fly is a must.
When the system installation is complete, you will be expected to train the client on how to use their new system. Customer service and support is a top priority for us. You will always be expected to be patient, kind, friendly, and respectful to the client and help to make sure the client is excited and happy with their new purchase.
Requirements:Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of professional experience in as an electronics installer, alarm technician, cable/satellite installer, electrician, or other construction or related trade.
- Hands on knowledge and experience in the implementation, design of residential systems integration including audio/video systems, automation and residential control systems, basic understanding of alarm systems and wiring, shading and window treatment installations, and residential IT/Networking.
- Proficient with cable pulling, audio, video, control, & network terminations in both new construction and retro-fit applications.
- Knowledge of basic framing and construction, power, and electrical concepts.
- Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Must be resourceful and willing to work through challenges that arise throughout the day.
- Attention to detail and pride in your work is a must.
- Ambition to strive for 100% client satisfaction at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience programming A/V, Lighting Control and other types of automation systems is a plus, but not required.
- A/V industry certification is a plus.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This position is required to work on-site at customer locations the majority of the time. There will be required travel throughout geographical footprint on a regular basis and off hour work/overnight travel may be required.
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders, scaffolding, work at heights and be able to carry items of 50 pounds or more.
