The Free Press is seeking an experienced Technical Director / Camera Operator / Studio Producer to support our growing audio and video production needs, ranging from our new studio-based live-streamed news show to our premium always-on and limited series podcasts.
The ideal candidate will be a production all-rounder, with experience operating cameras, podcast audio and basic studio lighting. Experience with live streaming/live production software (OBS, VMIX, ATEM, Streamyard etc.) would be a plus. Willingness and ability to test and learn to operate such software would be essential.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
$90,000 - $110,000 a year
This position will report to the Director of Production.
The salary will be pro-rated for a three-month initial term.

Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Tech direct live productions (including switching, teleprompter and associated equipment)
- Operate Sony cinema cameras, lights, sound and associated equipment during studio and field shoots
- Work with the Directors of Production and Post-Production to develop new technical workflows for a variety of audio and video productions
- Work with producers on premium podcast recordings
- Maintain and organize studio equipment
- Provide production technical support
- Operate a small podcast studio using Riverside and other audio/video software
- Catalog and maintain production equipment across the company
- Collaborate with the post-production team, possessing a general knowledge of post-production workflows.
$90,000 - $110,000 a year
