Communication & Engagement Specialist
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Pay Rate: $30.00 to $35.00/hr

Duration: 7 months+
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Executive Communications
    • Collaborate with Domain and Chapter Leads on key messages for both internal and external audiences.
    • Draft clear, effective communications for leadership and team initiatives.
  • Portal Management
    • Maintain and update the iGNE gWiz portal, ensuring all information is current and relevant.
  • Marketing Campaigns
    • Oversee and execute surveys, email campaigns via Mailchimp, reminder emails, and digital signage.
    • Monitor and analyze survey and email engagement metrics.
  • Branding and Media Support
    • Organize and distribute branding packages for internal and external use.
    • Support the iGNE Podcast and other site initiatives.
  • Event Planning
    • Manage event logistics, including offsite meetings and other event planning needs as assigned.
  • Graphic Design
    • Develop visually engaging presentations and other creative assets.

Skills & Practices
  • Communication Skills
    • Advanced skills in written, oral, and electronic communication with a strong command of English; additional languages a plus.
    • Ability to respond to emails within 24 hours and utilize out-of-office notifications as necessary.
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite (Documents, Presentations) and beginner proficiency in Google Spreadsheets.
    • Beginner-level familiarity with mobile phone features and internet navigation.
  • Teamwork & Excellence
    • Promote excellence across all job functions, supporting and encouraging team members.
    • Participate in cross-training to develop a well-rounded skill set.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Meeting attendance and support.
  • Provide backup support for team members as needed.
  • Submit timely receipts for p-card use and manage time-off requests.
  • Maintain compliance with working hour expectations and operational standards.

Requirements
  • Experience & Education
    • Minimum of 5 years of general office experience.
    • At least 2 years of marketing and communications experience, or a Bachelor's degree.
