Position Summary
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch,located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch anticipateshiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face in the Fall 2024, Spring and Summer2025 semesters in the Fine Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Division.Adjunct faculty will be expected to teach and/or develop lower divisioncourses (1000 and 2000 Level) in Communications.
Anticipated openings potentiallyinclude the following subjects:
* Communication 1130 - Public Speaking
* Communication 2121 -Introduction to Interpersonal Health Communication
UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diversestudent population with 100+ full time and part-time faculty members.We are fully accredited by the HigherLearning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor's degrees,Career Technical Education certificate programs, adult basic education(ABE/GED), workforce training, and personal enrichment courses.UNM-Gallup serves multiple high schoolpopulations including McKinley Academy, Middle College High School, and theCenter for Career and Technical Education.
The Fine Arts, Humanities & Sciences Division at UNM Gallup Branch isseeking a qualified temporary part-time faculty member to teach lowerdivision classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallupinstructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teachingincluding but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned timesthat may include face-to-face, evenings or weekends, content delivery,assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessmentof student learning as outlined by the division chair.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, the current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements.Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to thedivision chair.
Wages
Adjunct faculty are currentlycompensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads,as follows:
