Bon Appétit and Epicurious reach millions of home cooks and food lovers across Bonappetit.com and the magazine, Epicurious.com, the Epicurious app, the BA podcast, live events, video, newsletter, and social platforms.Job DescriptionLocation:New York, NYOverviewAs Manager, Creative Development, you will create and nurture a social-first, digital video IP portfolio focused on English-language content for the food brands (Bon Appétit and Epicurious), with ambition for global appeal. This role will be responsible for producing and editing social video for publishing on Instagram, TikTok, and other new emerging social platforms.The purpose of this role is to build social series from the ground up, driving audience growth and engagement, delivering on Condé Nast's preeminent portfolio of brands in the forms of:Original social content for global digital platforms (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts), with focus on premium, scalable qualitySocial coverage on our video productions in New YorkVideo franchises that transcend platforms and marketsVideo coverage and coordination of live cultural eventsThis role is based in New York and reports to Bon Appétit/Epicurious's Senior Director, Creative Development; and very closely collaborates with the Global Director of Audience Development, Analytics, and Social, and their team. Additional key collaborators will include the Associate Director, Creative Development, Socials & Visuals; the brands' Programming and Development leads; and the Content Director.The candidate should possess knowledge of the food and restaurant industry. Culinary experience is not required. They should have experience working for a notable brand or entertainment publication. They should have key time management skills and a team player mindset.Primary Responsibilities Align with brand editorial priorities and video, audio, and aud dev/social KPIs to create social video IP across platformsIdeate, produce, and develop social video content that adapts, supports, and spotlights Bon Appétit and Epicurious print and digital contentServe as the production lead on social video shootsEdit social videos filmed in our Test Kitchen and on locationGenerate ideas for existing series as well as new pilots specific for short-form social platformsMaintain visual best practices of series and pilots with brand stakeholdersProduce pilots and established series for socialPrepare finalized social videos for publishing on-app for TikTok and InstagramCollaborate continuously with Content Planning & Analysis, brand editorial, and Audience Development to engage existing fans and appeal to new viewers and advertisersMaintain awareness and provide social support to all brand initiatives - including new columns, series, podcasts, and eventsManage pre-production and post-production process, including, but not limited to, shoot schedules, budgets, and creative outlinesCollaborate with all editorial teams to have their work represented on social (cooking team, foodways team, drinks team,, etc.)Stay up to date on evolving features, trends, and popular social platformsDesired Skills and Qualifications 5+ years experience in the digital media space as a content creator with inclusive style that garners respect and trust across stakeholders and team membersEstablished creative sensibility with an excellent track record of producing and overseeing social content executionExperience creating social content from the ground up primarily using iPhone to captureExperience with Adobe video editing softwareDeep-seeded knowledge of internet culture and digital video landscape (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, et. al), the unique elements of each video platform and what makes particular videos successful on those platformsA finger on the pulse of social trends across TikTok and InstagramProven ability to operate, balancing long-term value with near-term business goals, ability to manage heavy workload and prioritize appropriatelyEntrepreneurial, strategic and holistic mindset, eagerness to learn and build, and a reputation as an innovative, adaptable and proactive "doer" with desire to differentiate Condé Nast from the competitionStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) with an emotionally intelligent communication styleSuccessful experience navigating matrixed organizationsExperience within a start-up or new line of business within a large, highly leveraged companyExhibit and set a culture of professionalism and results-oriented purposeFamiliarity with the brands and businesses of Condé NastThis is a guild position.The expected base salary range for this position is from $84,000-$92,000.
