Position Summary:


The A2 Audio Technician supports the audio production team by managing equipment, handling setup and breakdown, and ensuring sound quality during live events. This part-time role is crucial for the smooth execution of audio operations, particularly focusing on monitor mixes, RF coordination, and onstage setups.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup and breakdown of audio systems for various events.

• Manage onstage sound and monitor mixes under the direction of the A1 Audio Engineer.

• Handle RF (radio frequency) management, including microphones and in-ear monitors.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live performances.

• Ensure all audio equipment is maintained and functioning properly.

• Act as a liaison between the sound team and performers to accommodate specific audio needs.

• Manage cables, patching and maintain optimal signal flow and gain staging to ensure clear and reliable audio performance.


Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in live sound reinforcement, particularly in a supporting role.

• Familiarity with audio equipment such as mixers, microphones, speakers, and specifically Pioneer DJ equipment and QSC PA Systems.

• Knowledge of digital audio consoles from manufacturers like Midas, Allen & Heath, and Yamaha.

• Understanding of RF technology, including wireless microphone setup and frequency coordination.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, essential for coordinating with other technical staff.

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in audio engineering or related fields is preferred.

• Previous experience as an audio technician in live sound settings is highly valued.
