Essential Functions and Job / Position Summary:
  • Help to manage the broadcast operations required in the execution of the day-to-day acquisition, production and delivery of live game & event broadcasts
  • Work with the various departments at the NBA in the support of broadcast initiatives including Broadcast Engineering, Production, Broadcasting, Basketball Operations, and Events
  • Work in conjunction with the Broadcast Operations team on the planning, scheduling, logistics, and coordination needed to ensure flawless, and seamless productions & broadcasts
  • Success in this role demands meticulous attention to detail, as well as the ability to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • The ideal candidate will be highly organized to ensure that departmental procedures and workflows operate as efficiently as possible
  • Candidate must also understand signal flow and escalation & notification processes
  • This position requires a work schedule coinciding with live game & event broadcasts to provide real-time support.
  • Candidate must have a proactive approach, be one who is also able to handle changes as they occur, and address as necessary.
  • Occasional travel to support remote broadcast operations


Major Responsibilities:
  • Support the scheduling, logistics, coordination, and communication of supporting live game & events
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operational needs of each production. Coordinate support with vendors providing master control, production, crewing, rentals and transmission services.
  • Responsible for the reporting and escalation of outages, to senior / executive leadership
  • Support the usage of High Speed Arena Network (HSAN) including Back Haul Services & Point-to-Point requests
  • Work with Broadcast Engineering to streamline workflows and create operational efficiencies
  • Work constructively and respectfully with fellow team members to achieve a common goal, while always upholding the values of the NBA


Required Education / Professional Experience:
Educational Background Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Technology or other related studies
  • In lieu of a college degree, significant field experience may be considered

Experience Needed:
  • 5+ years experience in Broadcast Operations, Production, or related fields


Required Skills / Knowledge Attributes:
  • Knowledge of all facets of broadcast operations, including crewing, scheduling, signal flow, and production requirements
  • Understanding of broadcast transmission standards, technologies, and best practices
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Experience in planning, implementing and independently leading multiple projects
  • Experience with managing live game remote operations, preferably with a regional sports network
  • Ability to multi-task, while working individually, and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications abilities
  • Understanding of operational budgets
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely


Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000
