Essential Functions and Job/Position Summary:
This position requires a person who has a strong knowledge of the live content life cycle from capture to distribution. The ideal candidate will be able to aggregate and analyze information in order present a recommendation and if needed execute the vision. The position will work across multiple internal and external stakeholders to generate solutions for local production and distribution. The ideal candidate must be able to translate technical specifications and needs between engineering, production and executive leadership that may not be familiar with production.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a key resource for local production and operations personnel to strategize on deployment of available resource and management
  • Work with Broadcast Operations and Engineering on resource allocation to properly support team and league initiatives
  • Create material and documentation for proposed production workflows
  • Maintain relationships with strategic vendors that can aid and enhance local production efforts
  • Coordinate meetings and serve as an intermediary between production, technical and senior leadership.
  • Provide risk assessment and cost benefit analysis on proposed production plans and technical solutions
  • Assist with negotiations or provide guidance for production services as needed


Required Education/Professional Experience:
  • 4 - 8 years of experience working as part of a live sports production crew in an above the line, below the line or support capacity


Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
  • Strong understanding of roles and responsibility in a live sports production (both remote and studio background preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge and relationships with domestic broadcast vendors (i.e. mobile units, crewing, rental houses, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of satellite/fiber/streaming protocols
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end signal flow from capture to distribution for cable, over-the-air and direct-to-consumer workflows
  • Superior communication, analytical, design, planning and management skills.
  • Understanding of live sports production budgets
  • Experience using project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Quick learner and detail oriented: critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to disseminate information both verbally and in writing to production, technical and executive leadership
  • Upholds a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the role's status as an ambassador and liaison between a wide variety of entities across the NBA ecosystem
  • Assist in budget creation


Salary Range: $125,000 - $145000
