Overview:

If you have a passion for all things Design and are interested in bringing your talents to a growing dynamic engineering function in the defense industry, we would like to hear from you. This person must be able to hit the ground running.

Located in our sprawling suburban Philadelphia campus (Lansdale, PA), the Senior Mechanical Designer (Contract/Temporary) will perform mechanical layout and design tasks from moderately complex to highly complex for integrated microwave assemblies; designs sub-system products from the mechanical aspect; draws and revises detailed part and assembly drawings; uses computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as Creo, AutoCAD, and Solidworks; adheres to established engineering drafting practices; manages design control through the use of Windchill or similar documentation control tool.

Responsibilities:

Generates mechanical layouts and drawings for complex electronic assemblies with input from Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.

Uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) software

Incorporates Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) involving complex design changes.

Recommends selection of component hardware.

Prepares Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM).

Designs with Manufacturing, Assembly, and Repair in mind.

Collaborates with Engineers in the validation of design standards and other Engineering processes.

Manages the creation, revision, and release of CAD models and drawings using Windchill and PLM.

Collaborates in team meetings and activities.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Three (3) years of mechanical design experience

Three (3) years of experience with CAD software

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or Design Drafting

Experience with electronics packaging

5+ years Experience with Creo, Solidworks, or AutoCAD

Experience in electro-mechanical design

Previous experience in Configuration Management practices or strong design to learn

Ability to receive direction by telephone, in person, electronically, or and in writing

Ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning

Ability to read technical publications

Communicate across organizational levels with quality, integrity and respect and in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities.

Skilled in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)

Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Defense background

Active security clearance

Salary Range: Senior Mechancial Designer (level

III) : $32.92 - $47.76 Hourly, and Principal Mechanical Designer (level IV): $ 36.79 - $ 55.18 Hourly.

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
