Tackle the most complex asset challenges, developing a world-class workflow to unleash the potential of our art team on AAA titles.Please note: This is not an entry-level or mid-level position. Sufficient professional experience is required.Responsibilities Lead and grow a team of Technical ArtistsInspire, mentor, and support the Tech Art teamMeet with Technical Artists regularly to share information and updates, enforce standards, set benchmarks, and give feedbackManage and develop robust and efficient workflows for the Art and Design teamsResearch and help develop new technologiesCreate new techniques and procedures to improve game asset qualityHelp improve and refine shader, texture, and lighting qualityIdentify and fix pipeline issuesAnalyze and improve art asset inefficiencies to optimize console performanceWrite documentation about art tools and workflowsAct as a liaison between the Engineering and the Art departmentsAssist with solving daily production challengesWork with the Production department to define a schedule and assign tasksMinimum Qualifications At least 7 years of professional experience in the games industry with at least one shipped title as a Lead Technical ArtistMust have prior experience leading a team of Technical ArtistsComplete understanding of current-generation game workflows and pipelinesAn overall understanding of all Art related disciplines including environment, character, VFX, UX, lighting, shading, and renderingStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsExperience working with multiple game enginesInterest in learning a custom proprietary game engineHave the ability to learn and then teach newly acquired knowledgeExpert knowledge of MayaMaya scripting experience in PythonWorking knowledge of HoudiniThe ideal candidate may also have: Expert knowledge of HoudiniExperience with Substance Painter and DesignerShader authoring skills (HLSL, GLSL, CGFX) knowledgeKnowledge of C++, C#, Javascript, or other programming languages#J-18808-Ljbffr
