MaST II ss looking for a Media Specialist for Grades 3-6. Valid PA certification covering elementary grades is preferred along with up-to-date school clearances. Additional certification in Library, Media, or Art is a plus. The start date is as soon as possible.

Job Goal:
To instruct grades 3-6 Media classes in order to help students develop and practice strong reading, writing, and technology literacy skills. To curate, organize, maintain and promote K-12 library resources for staff and students. To create and update a Media Center web portal for staff, students, and parents. To assist with technology training and events as needed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Media Specialist Role will:
Develop, prepare, and execute cross-curricular K-6 Media lessons.Integrate multiple platforms of technology into lessons.Incorporate Common Core Standards, NETS Technology Standards, and Standards for 21st Century Learners into lessons.Collaborate with 3rd-6th grade teachers in order to supplement classroom lessons and projects.Ensure that students are selecting appropriate reading material.Assess and evaluate student progress throughout the year.Demonstrate new technologies and strategies to staff on an as-needed basis.Organize and run annual book fairs and open house events.Assist with supervising Media Center space in the morning, during lunches, and during dismissal.Assist students and staff in the circulation of library materials, use of the online catalog, and use of online database resources.Oversee the processing of new library materials received for circulation.Maintain and input textbooks and resources into Destiny Management System.Organize and store English Department books and guided reading materials.Assists in training of volunteers and new library assistants in circulation procedures.Maintains professional appearance and behaves in a manner appropriate to a public setting.Performs reliably, dependably with a good record of attendance, punctuality, flexibility and time management.Develops work-related goals and objectives.
