At Vigna Solutions, we are seeking a Senior Proposal Writer to support our upcoming efforts in bidding for new contracts and helping us achieve our future business goa
The Proposal Writer is responsible for developing high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals in response to federal Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other government solicitations. This role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), capture managers, and other team members to craft responses that effectively address the solicitation requirements, align with the company’s strategic goals, and maximize win probability.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitation documents to understand requirements and identify compliance criteria.Create and maintain compliance matrices and outlines to ensure all proposal sections meet solicitation requirements.Write, edit, and proofread technical, management, past performance, and cost proposal sections.Ensure clarity, consistency, and persuasiveness in proposal content.Work closely with capture managers and SMEs to gather technical and operational inputs.Facilitate and participate in proposal kickoff meetings, status updates, and color team reviews (e.g., pink, red, and gold teams).Coordinate with graphic designers to develop visuals that enhance proposal readability and impact.Develop and maintain a library of reusable proposal content, templates, and graphics.Continuously update boilerplate materials to align with industry best practices and federal procurement trends.Research federal procurement opportunities and gather intelligence on competitors and industry trends.Support the capture team in identifying and assessing win themes and differentiators.
Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in proposal management is a plus.
Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience writing and coordinating federal proposals, including experience with large, complex RFPs.Demonstrated experience working with federal agencies such as DoD, DHS, GSA, or others.
Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Doc, Sheets) and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with proposal management software (e.g., SharePoint, Deltek, or GovWin) is preferred.Understanding of federal procurement processes and regulations, including FAR/DFARS.
Core Competencies:Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple deadlines.Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality, compliant deliverables.
Preferred Certifications:APMP Foundation Certification or higher is highly desirable.
