The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Camp Program & Audio-Visual Specialist for our Heart O' Hills Camp, located in Wellston, Oklahoma.

Job Summary

Assists Camp Director with Camp Programs and Operations. Performs a variety of audio visual and sound related duties throughout the facility, including set up & tear down of all related equipment. Supervises support staff in those areas as needed to include outside contractors and summer staff. Maintains all sound equipment and all storage areas for supplies. Maintains inventory of supplies and orders replacement materials through Divisional Music Director.

Assist as needed with a variety of camp programs and operations.

Oversee all audio, visual, and lighting needs for Camp.

Assist maintenance and housekeeping department as needed.

Assists in organizing, implementing, and evaluating activities and programs for Camp, including the pool and ropes course.

Performs cleaning duties-taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, conference, and hotel rooms, vacuuming and sweeping/mopping as needed.

Assists in the year-round use of camp including summer camps, outside group rentals, and inside group rentals.

Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and safety of members.

Exhibits conducive and hospitable environment for children and guests occupying camp.

Ensures productive work environment.

Interacts with children in recreational activities.

Assists and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions.

Prioritizes use of A/V and sound equipment in all HOH facilities based on use and needs.

Maintains, organizes, and inventories the A/V and sound related supplies of each area.

Check Out / Check In of any sound equipment used by rental groups.

Checks all facilities prior to guest arrival for readiness of equipment and maintenance issues.

Coordinates with guest Services Director to ensure the satisfaction of all guest groups.

Be available to run/assist with A/V needs for various groups as needed.

Be available to assist with Summer Camping programs as determined by DYS.

Other Responsibilities (10%):

Creates a list for periodic cleaning and maintenance of all related equipment.

Will occasionally drive camp vehicles to pick up or deliver supplies.

Performs other camp related work as required. visional Music Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to perform a variety of duties and responsibilities on feet for extended periods of time

Ability to safely contend with summer heat when outdoors

Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, & implement audio visual equipment for special events.

Ability to build & maintain positive & professional relationships with youth & adults as well as community leaders participating in the programs.

Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform duties.

Ability to maintain certification necessary for this position.

Ability to perform a variety of duties and responsibilities on feet for extended periods of time.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. required and certification or diploma from an accredited Sound Technology Institute.

and

Two years of experience working with children and at least three years of experience working with A/V and sound equipment.

or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Certifications

CPR and First Aid, Driver license, Ropes Course Certified (willing to get), Lifeguard Certified (willing to get)

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Some physical requirements of the Camp Audio/Visual Specialist position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate audio/visual equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
