Associate Creative Director/Art
dna Communications is looking for a Freelance Associate Creative Director, Art that's a unicorn - a strong conceptor and a solid designer- to help manage and execute on several large-scale health accounts.
You're a highly conceptual problem solver with strong design chops, a builder of client relationships, and a storyteller who will help us convey our clients' messaging in new and creative ways. You'll have the chance to create award-winning work for blue-chip pharma and up-and-coming biotechs across social, traditional, and earned media.
You're someone who enjoys managing a team of junior creatives, leading by example, with a keen eye for organization and detail, but you still love getting your hands dirty and creating the work alongside them. You will work closely with project management, production, and client experience teams to help keep the work running smoothly.

NYC Salary range: $100.00 - $100.00

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate fresh ideas across all existing and emerging experiential platforms including: congresses, social, PR activations, online videos, brochures, etc. Recently we even designed a parade float!
- Help create a look and feel for brands when needed.
- Make use of a variety of conceptual disciplines (writing, pitching, brainstorming) while displaying an understanding of executional ones (graphic design, digital, social, and video)
- Join in concepting brainstorms with other creatives to come up with a range of ideas
- Manage the overall quality of the creative concept and its execution
- In partnership with the Group Creative Director, continually innovate process, ideas, and strategy to better support and grow accounts
- With the Group Creative Director, drive the collaborative efforts of the project's creative team
- Handling large and dangerous wild animals
- Reading to the very end of a document and recognizing when something doesn't seem right
QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong portfolio of work with solid concepts and strong design
- 7 to 10 years' experience in the media industry
- A love of great ideas across the industry
- The ability to concept across a broad range of media, in a variety of tones and voices
- Proven leadership skills managing multiple projects/tasks/teams of varying complexities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure
- Video production experience - whether for online video, TV, etc. . Animating is a plus.
And the ability to storyboard scripts - Resilience, a cheerful and positive attitude, and respect for others
- Good communication skills; someone who can present and defend work
- Experience with social media platforms and a working knowledge of their best practices
- An interest in staying on top of emerging platforms, mobile design, & development trends
- A willingness to push creative boundaries
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior healthcare experience a must
- Education in advertising and conceptual thinking is preferred.
- Bonus skills: Figma, illustration, photography, retouching, filmmaking, editorial, HTML.
